Year 3

Year 3 topics for the Autumn term:

Science: Animals including Humans – Food and Nutrition;  Forces and Magnets.

History: Changes in Britain from the Stone Age to the Iron Age

PE Days:   Tuesday – Swimming;   Wednesday – Outdoor PE (Hockey)

Homework is given out on Thursdays to be handed in on the following Wednesday.

Spellings are given out on Mondays. Children will be given an initial test on Thursdays to see how they are getting on, followed by a final test the following Monday.

Children should read their school scheme reading book at least four times a week.

Each read should be recorded in their Reading Journal and signed by parents. Children should record all the books they read in their journal, not just the ones from school. All the reads count towards reward stickers on their bookmark. After completing a bookmark, children may choose a free book from our selection in school.

Times tables should be practised daily by logging onto TTRockstars (login details will be on the inside cover of your child’s reading journal when they start to use it), or playing Hit the Button:  https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button

Many thanks for your continued support.
