Year 6 had a fantastic time at Castleshaw and Dove Stones. They learned how to read symbols and set a map around Castleshaw Centre, extending towards the rear field.
They applied these skills in an unfamiliar setting around Dove Stones Reservoir. Using the skills learned at Castleshaw, they had to orienteer their way around 2 courses using a map to locate different markers.
Year 6 children have been constructing circuits, drawing rectilinear circuit diagrams, solving problems with circuits and looking at the difference between series and parallel circuits.
As part of their D&T, the children have been constructing a kit car and powering the car with an electrical circuit.
Our Christmas crafts are up and running. Year 6 children have been inspired by the work of Bridget Riley to design their 2017 calendar.
